Robotics, Ceramics and Foliage
The ambition of this seminar is for students to conceptualize, design, digitally simulate, and then prototype a ceramic green wall designed to reduce the carbon footprint and air pollution and enable energy production. Designs will explore novel concepts of sustainability in Architecture through ceramic-based material research with integrated plant material and the development of a unique and highly controlled robotic fabrication process designed to suit the conceptual and aesthetic agenda of each project. Fabrication will necessitate the new ABB IRB 6700 Robot in the tent, clay, plants, and multiple digital techniques to produce a geometrically complex, high-resolution prototype of the designed project.
