Lifespan
Robotics, Biopolymers
The ambition of this seminar is for students to conceptualize, digitally simulate, and then prototype a synthetic habitat designed to have a built-in expiration date or LIFESPAN using net-zero construction. Designs will explore novel concepts of sustainability in Architecture through polymer-based material research with integrated photovoltaic technology and the development of a unique and highly controlled robotic fabrication process designed to suit the conceptual and aesthetic agenda of each project. Fabrication will necessitate the new ABB IRB 6700 Robot in the tent, polymers, and multiple digital techniques to produce a geometrically complex, high-resolution prototype of the designed project.
