Venice Biennale

Opening event for the Venice Biennale

August 29th, 2010

People meet in Architecture is the overarching theme of the 12th Architecture Biennale in Venice, Italy. BplusU is represented with two projects: City Futura- an urban utopia for the city of Milan imagined for the year 2210 and the recently completed Frank/Kim residence in Pasadena, California. The exhibition opened on August 27th until November 21 2010 at the Giardini and at the Arsenale, and in various other venues in Venice.

The title of the Austrian exhibit is “AUSTRIA UNDER CONSTRUCTION: AUSTRIAN ARCHITECTURE AROUND THE WORLD; INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE IN
AUSTRIA“.

The central theme of the exhibit’s concept is Austrian architectural exports and imports as one of our country’s essential strengths. Austrian architects working all over the world and international architects planning and building Austrian projects are an important factor in architectural discourse, which derives from this exchange and its related transformations and the close examination of architectural concepts. The show is curated by Architect Eric Owen Moss from Los Angeles, California.
